Ruth Roman

 Ruth Roman, born Norma Roman on December 22nd, 1922 - September 9th, 1999, was an American actress. Her career began in the east coast of America as a stage actress and then moved to Hollywood to explore a film career. Prior to her appearance in the western Harmony Trail (1944), Roman was also as the main character in Jungle Queen (1945). It was her first credit role. The actress was nominated for the Golden Globe Award as New Star of the Year as an actress for her performance in Champion (1949). She was an actress on contract with Warner Bros. in the 1950s. After quitting Warner Bros. in the mid-1950s, she continued to appear in movies as well as guest roles in television shows. Roman also produced films in Spain, Italy, and England. In 1956, she was also an onboard passenger of the SS Andrea Doria that collided with another vessel, sinking. She was given the Sarah Siddons Award in 1959 for her performance in the show Two for the Seesaw. She was a TV star who was awarded an award on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood for her numerous TV appearances.Norma Roman was born to Lithuanian Jewish parents Mary Pauline (nee Gold), and Abraham "Anthony” Roman in Lynn, Massachusetts. A fortune teller told her mother that "Norma was not lucky," she was given the name Ruth. Her mother was a dancer , and her father worked as a barker in the carnival sideshow they ran in Revere Beach. Ann and Eve were her sisters older than her.
