Ronda Rousey

 In August of 2010, Ronda Rousey made her debut on the women's MMA circuit. The diminutive Ronda was born in Riverside County, California to Ron Rousey's parents as well as AnnMaria DeMars. She was tied by an umbilical cord around her neck, causing damages to her vocal chords. Ronda was unable to talk in a coherent manner until she reached 6 years old. Ronda was an unabashed tomboy who competed in swimming between 6 and 10 years of age. Ronda was an unconfessed tomboy who competed in the Jr. Olympic swimming team and was a state champion at the national at the state level. Her mom, who was a 7th Degree Black Belt as well as a 1984 World Judo Champion in 1984 she urged Ronda to try the sport. Judo made her feel more at ease and connect with other kids. Ronda is a 4th Degree Black Belt in Judo. At the age of 17, she was the youngest judoka in history to take part at the 2004 Olympic Games. She also took home an Olympic gold medal at the World Junior Judo Championships, Budapest in the same year. In 2006, she became the first U.S. Judoka.
